Meet Alex Brown - DAR Good Citizen Class of 2018

Alex Brown
The senior class of Randolph Union High School has chosen Alexandra Brown as the DAR Good Citizen of the Class of 2018, since “she truly exemplifies the qualities of dependability, service to others, leadership and patriotism required by the Daughters of the American Revolution.”

Alexandra is the daughter of Anthony and Christine Brown and lives in Randolph Center. She has worked as a volunteer at Gifford Medical Center, helping out wherever needed—organizing paperwork, helping out in the hospital gift shop, etc. She has also worked at the local Food Shelf, at “Operation Christmas Child,” and has served at community events. Through the Interact Club, she has worked on blood drives, community outreach, etc.

She took Spanish classes and after reaching a certain level, was able to go on a Spanish-speaking trip with classmates to Nicaragua.

Alexandra served as senior class president, and on the yearbook committee, helping to assemble this year’s yearbook; and on the prom committee, helped plan this year’s senior prom.

She has been on the varsity track and field team for three years, and on the indoor track team. She serves as co-captain and also serves on a Captain’s Council within RUHS, dealing with and problem-solving athletics-oriented issues. She received an Athletics Citizenship Award given to the athlete who shows citizenship to both their team and others.

Her senior project was around nutrition. She is working towards her goal of a career in nursing.
